What’s the best way to clean a TV screen?
Whether you’re watching UEFA EURO 2024 or catching up on your favourite soaps, get the best view with a clean, streak-free TV screen.
How to clean a TV screen:
Whether you have an LED or OLED flat screen TV, or something more vintage, follow these tips to keep the picture looking its best.
- Turn off your TV
- Gently wipe over the screen with a soft, dry microfibre cloth, focusing on any smudges or fingerprints – wipe the whole horizontally first, then go back over top to bottom
- Dampen the cloth with a small amount of water, wipe over the TV body or frame, then remove excess moisture with a dry cloth
- Never spray water or liquid directly onto a TV or other electrical appliance
- Don’t use any type of soap, window cleaner or solvent on LED, OLED or flat screen TVs
How often should I clean my TV screen?
Keep on top of the dusting with a weekly clean. Although you can easily see when your television needs a wipe over, regular cleaning stops grime and dust from building up.
How to clean your TV speakers or soundbar:
- If your speaker has a removable fabric cover, take it off and vacuum both sides using your upholstery tool attachment
- If the fabric covering can’t be detached, use a lint roller to remove accumulated dust
